On 30th June 2017, Bishop Arthur Kennedy, the Auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese of Boston resigned from his position on reaching the age of 75.  Pope Francis accepted his resignation. The news of his retirement was published in Washington, by Archbishop, Christophe Pierre.

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Arthur Kennedy on June 30, 2010.  His Episcopal motto was “Ut cognoscant te”, which means “so that they may know you”.  His Excellency Bishop Arthur Kennedy always focused on living a humble life as a bishop and dedicated his life completely to the mission to let the people know the living God.

Bishop Kennedy was ordained and named Episcopal Vicar of the Evangelization of the Archdiocese of Boston by Cardinal Sean O Malley on Jan 18, 2012.  In this role Bishop Kennedy always tried to develop, promote and strengthen the catholic faith in the Archdiocese of Boston.
