VATICAN CITY: Francis Pope Emergency Corona Aid Fund has been launched to help mission areas affected by the coronary epidemic. The first donation of $ 750,000 to the fund, the pope has called on church organizations to donate generously to the aid fund. The Emergency Assistance Fund is overseen by the Pontifical Mission Society under the Vatican Evangelical Council. Funds will be used for church organizations and institutions in Catholic mission areas.

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, head of the evangelical church, said that during the evangelistic mission of the church, the church was always at the forefront of the challenge to the welfare of the global human community. He added that the Holy Father had invited the church worldwide to face the challenge of corona. Archbishop Giovanni Pietro dal Toso, president of the Pontifical Mission Societies, commented that the church’s charities can play a key role in helping the corona affected areas. He added that the fund was created in the interests of Pope Francis.

Societies for the Propagation of the Faith, the Missionary Childhood Association, the Society of St. Peter the Apostle, and the Missionary Union of Priests and Religions are Pontifical Mission Societies under the Evangelical Council. The Pontifical Mission Societies provide assistance to more than 9,000 health clinics, 10,000 orphanages, 1200 schools, 80,000 seminary students and 9000 nuns in nearly 1150 mission dioceses throughout Asia and Africa.
