The Catholic Congress of the Archdiocese of Changanassery have started collecting signs from the faithful to give a collective petition to the government of India, asking to invite Holy Father Pope Francis to the country. The Catholic Congress of the Archdiocese have demanded the government to show interest in inviting His Holiness Pope Francis, who is considered as one of the most eminent advisor promoting the world’s peace. His Excellency Archbishop Joseph Perumthottam of Changanassery inaugurated the sign collections by first signing the petition, which also highlights the violation of religious freedom in the country.
Holy Father Pope Francis had visited the neighboring Asian countries- Myanmar and Bangladesh last year but since the government of India had not invited him to the country, the faithful here couldn’t make it to see their beloved courageous spiritual leader.
