The southern states of India continues to face monsoon flood emergency as new flood alerts were issued in Kerala announcing more rainfall in areas already devastated by flooding and land slides in the past days.Nearly 300 casualties has been reported nationwide. More than 1.2 millions have been displaced in the states of Kerala, Karnataka ,Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The rescue operations are full fledged as India has deployed units of all three armed forces to work with local relief teams in order to co ordinate search and rescue operations.Church institutions are closely working with local emergency operations.Over three hundred church institutions have been turned into temporary relief camps in the state of Kerala alone.
