Holy Father Pope Francis offered prayers for Venezuela, where the conflict regarding the country moving towards dictatorship is deepening day by day, which affects the harmony of peace in Venezuela causing the citizens to suffer. His Holiness during his Angelus prayer in St.Peter’s Square, Vatican, Rome, addressed his concerns on Venezuela.
Venezuela’s bishops support the initiative taken by the citizens to oppose the referendum proposed by Nicolas Maduro, the President of Venezuela. As reported by Vatican news, the Bishops in Venezuela asserted that “The attempt to establish Marxist military dictatorship cannot be encouraged in the country.” The humanitarian crisis in the country is worsening due to its political crisis and thus the citizens suffer.
As per the report from Italian Caritas, more than 11,000 children died in 2016 due to lack of medicines and maternal mortality rose by 70% in the country. The Italian Bishops’ Conference has offered to contribute 500,000euros.
