Sao Paulo: Telephone message from Francis Pope conveys comfort to Brazil, the second largest number of Covid patients globally. The Archbishop Orlando Branthes, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Aparecida, a renowned Marian pilgrimage center in Brazil, has called on the Brazilian people to pray and offer their consolation and comfort to the people in Brazil. The pope requested that his condolences be communicated by telephone on Wednesday evening, June 10.
The pope said he was praying that the Virgin Mary of Appareseeda, the national arbiter, would help the people to overcome the crisis, while expressing their solidarity with the suffering Brazilian people. The pope requested the people to commemorate the Holy Mother’s special request in his name. Archbishop Orlando made this known to the Brazilian public in an interview on the national television network the same night he received a message from the pope.
Archbishop Orlando said that the pope recalled prayers at the World Youth Conference in Brazil in 2007 and the 2013 World Youth Conference in Brazil after becoming the president of the Catholic Church. The Archbishop informed the people that the pope had ended the telephone conversation by reminding people to be courageous and not to give up hope. In Brazil, COVID 19 affected 8,29,202 people. 41,901 people died.
