France: Preceding the assembly of Altar Angels in the Vatican during the summers of 2020, a meet was organized for the Altar Angels in preparation for their visit in the next year. In order to prepare them for the assembly, Pope Francis sent a video message to be conveyed to the attendees in France. In his message, the Pope said that Jesus himself calls the disciples to partake in the bread breaking. He mentioned that Altar Angels are blessed to be invited by Jesus himself to offer themselves during the celebration of Holy Qurbana.
The Pontiff cited that Altar Angels are the personification of the Twelve disciples of Christ in today’s world. Hence, they are entrusted with the duties of anointing and maintaining peace amongst their neighborhoods. He explained to the young men that they should be inspired by the acts of the Apostles and that they strive hard to act according to each one of them. He recollected the strength of the disciples who believed in unity. Pope Francis concluded his video message on the note that Altar Angels should be united with Christ in spirit and that they should never forget to pray for themselves and their world. The video ended with Pope Francis bestowing his Apostolic blessing over the gathered attendees.
