On 22nd July 2018, the Powai Forane Youth of Kalyan Diocese organised the Forane Futsal League, a super event held for the first time ever in the history of the Forane, at PES School Ground, Thane (E) . The League consisted of 6 amazing teams with players from different parishes of the Forane, and owned by individual(s) from across the Forane. The event was graced by the Diocesan Youth Director, Rev Fr. George Vattamattam, Parish Priests of different churches from the Forane and Youth Animators from the Forane. The event started with a prayer, oath and a kickoff by the Forane Youth Director, Fr. Shijo Parayil.
All the teams gave their best and played against each other for the Cup, and after all matches, the teams- Warriors and Pronet United FC finished at the top two positions and played against each other at the finals. The final was won by the team Warriors, who defeated Pronet United FC at the penalty shootout. The winning teams were handed down their trophies and prize money. Mr. Steve and Mr. Paulson were adjudged as the Best Player of the League and the Best Goalkeeper of the League. The League was witnessed by a great audience from the Forane.
The League concluded with a vote of thanks from Fr. George and Fr. Shijo. The Powai Forane Youth was much applauded over the huge success of the League.
