Sydney: Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fischer with special prayers for ending fires, droughts and rains in Australia. Most churches in Sydney have this special prayer for rain before the Holy Mass. This prayer, “Collect for the Mass for Rain”, was prepared by the Archbishop. God is where we live and move. The prayer begins with the prayer: “Give us the rain that is sufficient to sustain us in our present life, and to pray with confidence that we may have eternal life.”
The Metropolitan invites believers to share in his prayers for the brave firefighters who are fighting for their lives without risking their lives. The Metropolitan Prayer also indicates that we can appeal to our Christian Mother for help in this difficult time. Meanwhile, the Australian Council of Bishops has decided to postpone the National Prayer Campaign for Rainfall until the drought is over.
The Metropolitan Council has also made arrangements to participate in the National Prayer in parishes, schools, fellowships and family prayers. Wildfires are common in Australia, but this time wildfires are out of control. Meanwhile, there have been reports of cold winds and drizzle in parts of Sydney to Melbourne and parts of New South Wales.
