Bethlehem: Prince Charles of Britain crowns Prince of Wales Church in Bethlehem Prince Charles arrived in Bethlehem on Friday, January 24th. He also prayed in the Grotto of the Reformation and attended the Ecumenical Prayer in the chapel of the Greek Orthodox Church, where he held discussions with church leaders.
Prince Charles and church leaders gathered together to pray for the betterment of the Christian community. Anglican Bishop Suhail Dawani initiated the prayers. He noted the difficulty of living as a Christian in places where Christianity is less common, such as in West Asia. Theophilos III, the Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Church, addressed the importance of the Christian presence in the Middle East.
After the Ecumenical Prayer, Prince Charles was ordained by Fr. Introduced by Francisco Patton Grotto. After returning from his visit to Grotto, he found time to address the Armenian community. Archbishop Sevan Garibian explained to the Armenian community the historical presence of the region and the problems they faced. He expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm shown by the believing community and various church leaders to receive him.
