Kochi: The KCBC Pro-life Committee has filed a petition to the Lok Sabha members demanding that the central government’s decision to liberalize the country’s abortion law be revoked. The decision to increase the permissible period for abortion to 24 weeks after pregnancy could lead to abortion and lead to a homicide.
The entire Lok Sabha, the religious, cultural and social leaders must be prepared to say no to this move. The state governments should clarify their stand. The abortion law amendment was approved by the Union Cabinet on January 29. KCBC Family Commission Secretary Fr. Paul Madassery said.
