Changanassery: Protests are undergoing against minority rights abuses in Changancherry. Crowd is protesting against the policies of the central government to deny the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution to Christian minorities. The Archdiocese of Kallarakkal Hall organized various agitations at the Catholic Congress.
The meeting decided to hold a secretariat dharna and organize Constitutional Protection Day on January 26, 2020, in Kottayam, demanding the appointment of a judicial commission to study Christian backwardness and the indiscriminate distribution of minority benefits. Archbishop Varghese Antony, President of the diocese, said: Archbishop Mar Joseph Perunthottam delivered the keynote address at the inauguration of the Syro Malabar Church Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alencherry.
