MOSCOW / BUDAPEST: When Western European countries fail to see the persecution of Christians, strong reactions are coming from Eastern European leaders, Russian President Putin and members of the Trump administration. Russian President Putin and Hungarian Prime Minister Orban have made strong decisions, not just in word, but in action, to protect the Christian faith. The Hungarian government convened a meeting of church leaders and representatives in October to discuss the persecution of Christians. Vladimir Putin then promised that Russia would do everything it could to protect the Christian faith, and help to preserve and restore the holy places of the Christians.
A month later, Hungary held another international conference to discuss Christian persecution. About six hundred people from 40 countries attended the conference. Hungary and Russia have a plan to support the stable governments of the West Asian countries, to aid the development of the Christians and to persuade them to remain in that country. Christendom looks forward to this intervention.
