On 1st July 2017, Cardinal Timothy Michael Dolan, an American Cardinal of the Catholic Church, profoundly conveyed that the main element of forming disciples in this century must be a witness to Joy, to the convocation gathered bishops, priests, religious, representatives of Catholic churches gathered at the opening Mass for the Convocation of Catholic Leaders in Orlando. His Excellency observed that the major meaning of convocation is to acknowledge and understand Jesus Christ more closely.
As reported by the Catholic news agency, Cardinal Dolan reflected that “People may claim that they do not want faith, hope or love. Rare is the person who does not crave for Joy.” He continued, “True Joy is not merely pleasure, giddiness or some syrupy, superficial feel- goodness but rather as St.Paul teaches, a gift of the Holy Spirit. ”Further, he added that it is this joy that will attract the people to the message of the Gospel.
His Excellency concluded by stressing that , for the Catholic significance and confidence , it is vital to renew Joy in everyone’s life.
