Tehran: Sixty-five-year-old sentenced to life in Iran for violating Christian faith Shirazi’s civil court has sentenced Ismail Maghreb Jainad to three years’ imprisonment and 10 million tomans (USD 9,000) in bail. Ismail was arrested on January 25 last year on charges of aggravating the state and the state. The Christian community in Iran has come to the aid of prayer for Ismail. His bail bonds were organized by his friends.
At the trial on October 22, he was charged with “apostasy”, and the bail was set at 1 crore tomans. But at the November trial, the charge of ‘religious abandonment’ was dropped. The sentencing hearing was held on January 8 in the presence of a new judge in the 105th branch of the Civil Court in Shiraz. The new penalty is for allegedly committing acts that defame the Islamic faith online. The planned trial was for the sake of a post shared by someone on the phone and posting a post criticizing Iran’s ruling clergy.
