NEW DELHI: Christian leaders have expressed their displeasure over US President Donald Trump’s visit to India on the issue of religious freedom. The United Christian Forum, a spokesman for the United Christian Forum, said the minority community hoped that Trump would be able to understand and respond to the issue of religious liberty in many parts of the country. Michael blamed it.
He also made it clear that the Christian community in the US was aware of the problems confronting Trump. Citing data collected by the organization, he said that since Narendra Modi assumed office in 2014, there has been an increase in atrocities against Christians. In 2014, 147 cases were registered while in 2019 there were 328 similar cases. But Michael said that even these figures are unofficial and that in many cases Christians do not come forward to complain because of fear.
India ranks 22nd in 2014 on the list of the most difficult countries for Christians to live in. There are 29 states out of which at least 15 states experience daily Christian persecution. Michael added. Donald Trump’s refusal to respond to Modi’s Hindutva agenda Cedric Prakash also publicly expressed. The highest attack on Christians in the country is in Uttar Pradesh, where Yogi Adityanath is ruling.
