Holy Father Pope Francis had declared 1st September as World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation in the year 2015 and celebrated a special Liturgy of the Word in St. Peter’s Basilica to mark its first occurrence. Ahead of the third World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, His Holiness has appealed for a respectful and responsible attitude towards Creation.
As reported by en.radiovaticana.va, His Holiness Pope Francis remarked that “The Church leaders appeal to all who occupy influential roles, to listen to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor, who suffer most from ecological imbalances.”
His Holiness concluded the general audience meet by reminding the faithful gathered that the annual World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation offers to individual believers and to the communities a special opportunity to renew personal participation in the vocation as custodians of Creation.
