Vatican City: The Rosary Relay for Priest celebrates the invocation of the Holy Mother’s Special Press on behalf of clergy in the global church, and thanksgiving for the priestly calling of God. More than eighty-five countries are participating in the event, according to organizers of the ‘World Priest’, The motto of the rosary relay is ‘sanctification of clergy’. In the wake of Corona crisis, World Priest has called for online live broadcasts of small groups who would join in the prayer.
Pope Francis has conveyed his greetings and prayers through the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Paroleon, to Michael Nyeri, the Episcopal Advisor of the World Priest, and the Tuam Archbishop of Ireland, who are actively involved in the mission for the clergy. In 2003, Irish businessman Marian Mulhar coined the term ‘World Priest’. Today is the 11th anniversary of the Global Rosary Relay launched by Mulher in 2009.
