Moscow: The Russian Orthodox Church’s ‘Bus of Mercy’ was launched in St. Petersburg on November 24 with the aim of providing medical aid to people living on the street. Funeral rites of the underprivileged will be held at the Church of Annunciation, located at Prospect Pisarevskin in St. Petersburg. Every Sunday from 9 am to 8 pm, buses of mercy will reach the various parts of the city. The church leadership has announced that the bus service will be available on other days of the week as well.
Non-profit volunteers, doctors, and nurses are available on the bus. Members of the Hospital of Charity and an organization called Koinonia are on the arena. People can get services on the bus, including a variety of medical tests. The Russian Orthodox Church runs 12 mercy buses which will run through various cities of Russia. In addition, the church has many other charities for the needy.
