Istanbul: Bishop Sahak has been elected secondary patriarch of the Armenian Orthodox Church. The Vatican delegation also participated in the inauguration ceremony on 11 January at St Mary’s Orthodox Church in Istanbul. The greeting of the pope was read at the ceremony. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Patriarch Sahak, who was sent as a gift to Pope Francis.
