Vatican City: The statement that Satan is not a person and that it is a symbol is controversial. Fr. Arturo Sosa was speaking to news outlets this Tuesday. He adds that Satan rejects God. His statement that Satan was a mere symbol and not a person in August, was a source of great debate.
Satan is the antithesis of God’s saving plan through Christ. Fr. Sosa explained the last day. Earlier, on August 21, in an interview with the Italian magazine Tempi, Fr. Said Sosa.
He also stated that although Satan appears in various forms, he is never a person. It was a different expression from the Catholic Church’s teachings. In 2016, the Venezuelan native and seventy-one-year-old Fr. Arturo Sosa was elected Superior General of the Jesuit Society.
