St. Ephrem’s Theological College, Satna, Madhya Pradesh, completed 25 years of its existence and celebrated its Silver Jubilee on 3rd and 4th October, 2017. On 3rd October, the new priests of the last academic year celebrated the Holy Mass and all the alumni joyously took part in the Jubilee Family gathering on that day. On 4th October, His Eminence Cardinal George Alencherry, the Major Archbishop of the Syro Malabar Church presided over the Eucharistic celebration.
A jubilee commemorative volume, “Mission and Contextual Formation” was released in the meeting and convocation of the outgoing batch of students was also held on the same day, which made the event more divine and meaningful. An exhibition highlighting the Syro Malabar Missionary World of the Syro Malabar Church in North India was arranged in St. Ephrem’s Theological College, in connection with the Jubilee.
The Theological Seminary was started as a Mission Seminary by His Excellency Bishop Mar Abraham D. Mattam of Satna in 1992 and was taken over by the Synod of the Church in 2014 and became the official Mission Seminary of the Church. The present rector of the college is Rev. Dr. Joseph Ottupurackal, a priest of the diocese of Satna.
