Thiruvananthapuram: Two people, including a four-wheeled Bethany monk from Bethany Ashram, were killed when a car and tanker lorry collided in Mangalore. Brother Dr. Jitin Jacob OIC, 27 and his college professor were involved. The deceased has been identified as Jaini Shaji (42). Dr Jaini’s son Sherwin was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The accident happened at 7.30 am on the Nelliyadimamangalapuram road.
Dr Jitin graduated as a sixth-grader at the University of Natural Medicine. The body will be brought to the Bethany Ashram in Thiruvananthapuram.
Funeral services will be held in the Ashram Chapel with Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis Catholic officiating. Puthuveenude Jacob Varghese and Mercy Jacoba are the parents of the student. The car was driven by Brother Jitin. Sherwin, who was in the front seat with him, was seriously injured.
