The North East regional general body meeting of SIGNIS, an international media moment recognized by the Catholic Church , that took place in Guwahati, Assam on 8th July, 2017. The meeting conveyed the emergency of bringing out fake news and also focused on the upliftment and significance in revealing the truth through media. SIGNIS decided to fight against all the corrupted lies that are shown and portrayed through media platforms , in the meeting.
As reported by Matters India, Bishop George Palliparambil of Miao stressed that “ As media people of our region, we all have a very serious responsibility of bringing the truth to the people and use media to promote peace among the different groups of people of our region.”
The newly made team of SIGNIS’ main intention is to make a powerful impact on the minds of the youth who are digitally more connected and to promote the activities of Catholic Churches.
