A prayer book, supposedly used by Saint Francis Assisi during his lifetime, was on display in Baltimore, USA. The prayer book is on display at the Walters Art Museum. The book is dubbed The Missal of Francis Assisi. The book’s stitching has been diminished with age, making the book worthy of exhibition after two years of effort. At the same time, the book has been digitized for the museum’s website.

The book has a history that dates back to 1208 between Francis Assisi and his two followers when they disputed what God’s will was about them. Unable to arrive at a definitive decision, she prayed at the church of St. Nicholas in Assisi. Francis would usually attend the Holy Mass. There they opened the prayer book. They received from God the message that they should forsake the world’s goods and follow Him. They received the same message from the book a second time and a third time. This incident laid the foundation for the Franciscan church. Other objects related to Francis Assisi are also on display in the museum. Thirty-six thousand objects, up to the age of 7, are on display in the museum. The show will continue until the end of May. The museum has a free exhibition to strengthen faith life.
