“Communication leads to community, that is to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing” – Rollo May (Late American existential psychologist)

Today, communication has achieved almost different ways of expressing it, thanks to the introduction of social media. Back in the olden days, it would have been a dream comes true had this technology been introduced. That pops the question! Do we have greater power, to ignite the candle of “good news”, to share with our dear ones? Ring a bell?

We are all self-addicted users of social media, even if you claim; you rarely use it. One notification is all it takes, to shift your entire focus (even in cases of non social media users). It’s a human disorder in the end, anxious to know if a specific post has received  acceptance?

Well, let’s begin something anew which will keep you “TRENDING” on all social media platforms for a while. Christian faith and ideology are the greatest treasures you possess to achieve this great feat. Your varied talents combined with the energy to spread the good news go a long way to harness the faithful.

Everything depends on the way we look at things through our lenses. If we change our lenses, reality itself appears different. Jesus – the good news himself has nothing to do with suffering; rather suffering itself becomes a part of a bigger picture. In Christ, hope is born that kindles our heart during days of despair when life is seemingly dismayed. The kingdom of God is in our midst; no matter how unnoticed its existence. “Fear not, for I am with you” (Is 43:5). The very synergy of a youth preaching the word on a platform such as the social media can create a robust yet enriching experience to all the faithful out there. You have an inspiration in Pope Benedict XVI, the early advocators of social media who started twitter accounts in 7 languages. His successor, Pope Francis is very much taking the initiate forward by making his presence felt on Instagram. So, what are you waiting for?

Participate in the #DioCom festbeginning on 23rd July. Get inspired. Volunteer up for KMC (Kalyan media cell). Bingo! You are good to go. KMC has its presence felt in 12 Foranes of the Eparchy and is slowly taking the internet by storm having won the First Prize in SIGNIS ASIA MEDIA AWARD, 2017. KMC is headed by the enthusiastic Fr. Franklin Joseph along with a bunch of keen, energetic and cheerful youth interested in reaching out to the faithful & faithless alike. So be ensured, you will be on top of your game.
