New Delhi: The Supreme Court today dismissed a BJP activist’s plea to declare the canon law in the country’s Catholic Church unconstitutional. Chief Justice S.A. The petition was dismissed by a bench headed by Bobde. MS Perumbavoor is a native of Perumbavoor. The petition was filed by Anoop. The petitioner argued that the Canaan law was created and governed by foreigners and that the head of a foreign country was to rule over India’s churches and property.
Anoop approached the Supreme Court challenging the Kerala HC rejecting the same plea. The High Court has already pointed out that India is a secular country and our Constitution allows different religious groups to own, enjoy and manage the property. The court asked the petitioner what the matter was and the plaintiff had no right to file the petition.
