A pre-school in Sweden has banned the children in the school from saying “Amen” or use any Christian religious wordings, considering that the Catholic norms may break the educational policy in Sweden and thus have forbidden the children to follow the school policies by denying the Christian activities in the country.
The school authorities believe that the Christian activities always tends to violate the school principles. As reported by the Matters India , Brit Marie Martensson, the manager of the school reflected that , “ The kids now sing a rhyme on the table before having their meal in which they give thanks to the sun, the rain and the food.” Further, she continued , “It is sad because Grace is a tradition but the rhyme is also nice and it allows the kids to choose to whom and what they want to give thanks.”
The school believes that it is just a continuous tradional bond which makes a child say a prayer before mealtime thus making the child to forcefully follow it without giving a choice .Families of the children in the school have already raised their voice against this practice but nothing has brought a change in the system yet.
