Manila: Catholic churches and seminaries in the country have become a refuge for people who had to flee their homes following the threat of talc volcanic eruption in the Philippines. As of yesterday (Jan. 13), the Archdiocese of Manila has assisted around 3,000 people in various ways. Most of the temples in the Archdiocese are open to the public.
Design World Seminary, located in the city of Taageita, Philippines, has relocated its office to accommodate the people who fled after the threat. Fr. Fr. Rudolph Carino Flores said. The government issued a cautionary note when ash and smoke and lava flows began to erupt from the Taal volcano south of Manila.
About twenty thousand people have already been evacuated from the vicinity of the volcano. Many schools and offices, including the International Airport in Manila, have been closed due to the threat of explosion. At the same time, the church leadership called for prayers to change the present dangerous situation.
