DORI: Three of the six parishes in the diocese of Dory have been shut down in the aftermath of the killing of at least twenty Christians in Burkina Faso on Sunday. The government has decided to shut down the temples in the event of a terrorist attack. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that one of those killed Sunday was a Catholic religious teacher. When the Dory Diocese was founded, he was one of the first religious teachers to be sent on a mission to teach the church’s mission.
The attackers came to the church during a prayer service on Sunday. The men were shot and killed after the men and women were separated. The militants returned after burning down the shrine and arresting three others. No information is available about them. In Burkina Faso, where 60 percent of Muslims live, only one-fifth are Christians.
