Cairo: Egypt’s militant attacks have been plotted in Egypt this year, similar to last year’s Easter invasion in Sri Lanka, the government has said. The Egyptian Interior Ministry has revealed that the attack on Christians has been thwarted. The administration also claimed that large quantities of explosives were seized. The shooting, which occurred on the basis of reports of minority Christians being attacked on Easter Day, was fired. The administration also confirmed that one policeman and seven militants were killed.

The Interior Ministry said it had received information that Islamic militant cell, which is based in the south-eastern part of Cairo, is planning to attack the Coptic Christians on Holy Week and Easter Sunday. According to the International Christian Concern (ICC), a Washington-based Christian charity, authorities have seized large quantities of explosives and ammunition from the site of the shooting. The defeat of the terrorist attack is a good thing, but the Egyptian government continues to persecute Christians, the organization said.

These attacks are being carried out with the help of the government to maintain their power. The organization called for the public to be aware of the fact that there is no Easter celebration in the backdrop of Kovid-19, and that the government should make the information relating to the failed attack plan transparent. The most recent attack on Egypt’s Coptic Christians is the terrorist attack that killed seven people in November 2018.
