Another social venture was undertaken by the energetic youth of Thane Forane on the 8th of October, 2017. With high spirits, enthusiastic youth from the Forane came forward for the event ‘Cleanliness Drive and Tree Plantation Programme’.
The drive began at 2:30 at the Civil Hospital, Thane, with a small prayer and blessings of the Forane Youth Director Fr. Jomon Thekkumthala. Youth formed four groups and participated enthusiastically in the initiative. The groups were assigned four different spots to clean which covered the entire hospital compound. The cleaning tools were distributed and the youth began the work. The hospital officials further specified certain areas meant to be cleaned and the youth did it willfully. After this, the youth planted saplings in the hospital compound as a part of the tree plantation initiative. A stretcher was donated by the Forane youth to the hospital. The energy and efforts of the youth were quite appreciated by the authorities. By late evening, the group dispersed with the happiness of completing a beautiful social initiative.
The youth will be thankful to the Forane animators and executives for giving them a chance to serve the society by this great movement.
