NEW YORK: The tide of change has finally settled on the media’s silence on the ongoing atrocities against Christians in Africa. New York-based international newspaper The Wall Street Journal (YSJ) reports that the helpless Christians are undergoing a brutal and diabolical ‘new war’ that has changed the course of the media. The Wall Street Journal’s Opinion column clearly indicates that the Fulani tribes linked to the Islamic extremist organization Boko Haram are waging a vicious war against the Christians.
According to Bernard Henry Levy, author of the report, the Fulanis are spreading into more and more territories, threatening Christians, while Boko Haram has shrunk to just five percent of Nigeria’s territory. Fulani jihadists are raising a greater threat in Africa than Boko Haram. The author points out that the Jihadi attacks are being carried out with the massacre, gang rapes, torture and robbery and that the ‘slow-motion war’ is going on against Christians in Nigeria.
This war, which the world ignores, is frightening and devilish. The woman’s mutilated corpses, including the need to renounce her faith, and beheaded with a sickle until she screamed, were strangled by a crucifixion chain. The majority of the 2040 attacks recorded in the Global Terrorism Index 2018 were carried out by Fulani jihadists. But the international media is afraid to label the Fulanis as terrorists. While leading newspapers ignore the issue and remain silent for fear of being labeled as anti-Islamic, the Wall Street Journal, the leading international media outlet, has taken the stand seriously.
