Three youths from the Mary Magdalene Church, Pathhiyoor have renounced everything for the sake of Christ and entered into the priesthood in his name. The Archbishop of Latin Archdiocese, Archbishop Soosa Pakyam officiated the ordination on 20th June. Given the present circumstances, only few family members could attend the function, which would otherwise be a celebration of the entire coastal village.
Fr. Shaiju Berkmans, Fr. Joy Muthappan, Fr. Johnson Muthappan are the three priests who have arised above all challenges of life to become the disciples of Jesus. Fr. Joy and Fr. Johnson are siblings. Due to financial issues, they completed their education through Sree Chithra Home for Orphans. Both state that the regularity of Family Prayer in their house gave them the right direction amongst all odd of life. on the other hand, Fr. Shaiju has resorted to becoming a fisherman like his ancestors to support his family. However, it was his father, who motivated him to study further and thereby leading Fr. Shaiju into the path of Holiness.
