Bethlehem: The Church of the Holy Birth has been reopened in Bethlehem, where it is believed that Jesus Christ was born, which was closed indefinitely as part of the Coronal Resistance. The shrine, which had been closed for more than two months, opened yesterday. Only a few clergymen witnessed the opening of the temple doors after a long day. The shrine was opened on Monday following the announcement of Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Staatyeh on Monday that the lockdown restrictions have been revoked.
Immediately after opening the shrine, Bishop Theophilactos, head of the Greek Orthodox Church in Bethlehem, kissed the sacred image of the shrine. Then the priests prayed where Jesus was believed to have been born. At present only 50 persons are allowed to visit the shrine. The administration has issued many stringent instructions, including wearing a mask and keeping the social distance. It is forbidden to touch and kiss the stones of the Grotto. The first corona in Bethlehem is confirmed by Greek visitors to the city. Subsequently, on the instructions of the authorities, the Tirupiravi Temple was disinfected.
