Mananthavady: A great example was set by the diocese of Mananthavady by giving away 20 cents of land free of cost to build a busway to end the suffering of ordinary people. With the completion of the busway at Edwaka Dwarka, the face of Dwarka will change. Edavaka is a busy area of the panchayat and has many vendors. Dwarka is the main town of Edavaka Panchayat, including two schools including Higher Secondary School and Ayurveda Hospital Banks. The changed governance committees have been behind this need, but the positive help of the diocese of Mananthavady has finally proved its reality.
20 cents of land owned by the diocese in Dwarka has been given to the panchayat for the construction of the busway. Bishop Mar Jose Poronadam handed over the sketch of the land to the Bishop’s House. Gram Panchayat President Najmuddin Moothambath, Permanent Committee members Jilson Tupumankara, Amina Awaran, members Manu Kuzivelil, Najeeb Mannar, Panchayat Secretary Gopalakrishnan, Diocese Procurator Fr. Jilson Kokkandam, Corporate Manager Biju Ponparakkal, and others were present.
