Athens: The Synod, the governing body of the Greek Orthodox Church in Greece, has unveiled its unequivocal declaration that the coronavirus has not been transmitted through the Holy Qur’an. The Greek Orthodox Church has made its stance clear after days of speculation as to whether the church should take measures to limit the Holy See, considering the government’s proposal to prevent the spread of the corona. In the midst of such an epidemic, attending the Holy Mass is a statement of self-sacrifice and love for the living God, which is known to believers of all ages.
According to Reuters, Archbishop Seraphim told Alpha Radio in Greece that the Holy Communion represents the body and blood of Jesus, and that the participants in the sacrifice were close to the God of healing. The statement also mentions the steps that believers should follow in self-defense, such as continuous hand hygiene, disinfectant use, and alienation from others. While it is advisable to stay home with believers in areas where there is a high risk of illness, the Church does not encourage them to stay away from the Holy Mass.
