THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker P Joseph said that the pastor of the Changanassery Archbishop and the Chairman of the Inter-Church Council, Mar Joseph Pavathil, has long been an influential figure in the church and community. Sri Ramakrishnan was speaking at the launch of Navathi Memorial Postage Stamp which included the image of Mar Pavathil.
The Vicar General of the Archdiocese, Rev. Dr. Isaac Alanchery, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of the North, and the Executive Director of the Lourdesmatha Group of Institutions Dr. Soni Mundunadakkal, Fr. Joseph Kakkanad, Fr. Cherian Chekkuzhy, Fr. Joseph Pacalomatum, P.R.O. Adv. Joji Chirayil, Thiruvananthapuram District Postal Division Superintendent Sivadasan Pillai, Postal Department Marketing Executive Soni S.N and others were present.
Archbishop Mar Joseph Pavathil’s Ninetieth Birthday Celebrations will be held at St. Mary’s Metropolitan Church, Changanassery at 2 pm on February 7. Leaders of religious, social and political affairs, all the clergy of the diocese, representatives from all parishes, office bearers and nuns of the parish will participate in the meeting.
Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, Cardinal Mar George Alencherry will inaugurate the public meeting. Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Church Cardinal Baselios Mar Cleemis will deliver the Catholicos. Bishop of Essenstadt Diocese of Australia. Ajidiu Jonan will be the chief guest. Archbishop Mar Joseph Perunthottam, Mar Thoma Church President Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan, Mar Mathew Arakkal, Bishop Dr. Joseph Kariyil, Mar Thomas Tharayil, Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, MLA and CFO Thomas MLA, Dr. Sister Mercy Nedumpuram, Dr. Dominic Joseph will also speak.
