Alappuzha: The Alappuzha diocese bishop Dr. James Anaparambil means that the Laity are ‘the keepers of the earth’. He was inaugurating the 2019 KLCA Honors Conference organized by Alappuzha Diocesan Council (Kerala Latin Catholic Association). We need to try to make the world a human habitation. We are the decision-makers on both sides of the Coast Guard Act. Our culture is derived from the relationship between the sea and the land.
Tides are the lifeblood of the Earth’s coastal inhabitants. We are not to flee from it. Similarly, we are not conscious of falling into the imposed Coast Guard Act. It should be protected. We have to stay here. The concept of the temple is that the temples should be like the tabernacle of nature. The temple symbolizes paradise where nature, man, and God come together. Putting plastic in the temple is a sin. In his address, he urged us not to allow anything that pollutes nature in these sacred places.
