Malayattoor: This year’s Crucifixion Pilgrimage has begun with the worshipers of Malayattoor Maha Parish ascending the mountain. In the morning, the believers gathered together in the cupboards of the Marthomasheel. Rev. Thomas Mazhuvancheri, vicar of Vimalagiri Church, Maha Iyawaka, led the opening prayer. Thereafter the Vicar of Sebiyur Church, Fr. Arun Valiya Veettil, Vicar of Illithodu Church The hike was started by Chacko Kilukkan.
Rogi M. John MLA also accompanied him to the hill. Confessions are also arranged at St. Thomas Church (Lower Church), Kurisumudi. This month, the eight-story old church will be converted into a chapel of eternal worship. The Vicar Rev. Fr. Varghese is the bridegroom.
