MEXICO CITY: The Mexican Catholic Church will celebrate April 3 (Friday) as National Atonement Day in the wake of the widespread coronavirus. The Mexican Bishops’ Liturgy Commission said this in a statement issued on March 29. The Commission also urged people to fast and take part in spiritual services online and pray.
During the Lenten season, the church calls us to repentance, atonement, and reconciliation with God and brothers. The commission also stated that prayers for the mercy of God these days should be made special by the way of the cross and mercy. A total of 1215 coronation cases were reported in the country. 29 people have died from the disease.
