Mananthavady: Bishop Jose of Mananthavady said that the mission of the Christian community is to make the world a better place to live in a world full of environmental problems. About 500 families have been fully or partially financed as part of a housing project led by the Diocese of Mananthavady in the wake of the 2018 Kerala flood. He was speaking at the keynote address of ten houses built by the Congregation of Mission (CM) clergy in the Chunkakkunnu-Kottiyur area as part of the same project.
In connection with the Mananthavady Diocese, the Congregation of Mission had announced its willingness to help flood-affected families within the diocese. From the Chunkakkunnu-Kottiyoor area, under the leadership of the Forane Vicar, ten families were rehabilitated. Mananthavady Diocese Procurator Rev. Fr. Jilson Kokkandatil. The involvement and supervision of Rev. Fr. Vincent Kalapura helped to complete the construction work on time.
The Diocese of Mananthavady thanked the Congregation of Mission for the full cost of construction for ten families. Provincial Superior of Mysore Province Fr. Tomichen handed the keys of the houses. Ward Member Sri. Joy Velupuzhakkal and Kottiyoor Grama Panchayat President Shri. Roy Nambutakam addressed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Babu CM, Rev. Fr. Jilson Kokandam, Rev. Fr. Sijesh Pullenkunnel, Rev. Fr. Shaji Mulakudiyangal, Rev. Fr. Saji Kochupara, Rev. Fr. Sunil Mathil, Rev. Fr. Shijo, Rev. Fr. Sanoj Chitrakkal were also present.
