Pope Francis pays tribute to 21 Catholics celebrating the Golden Jubilee anniversary of the Diocese of Sekondi Takoradi, Africa The Pontifical Medals were honored for their exceptional and extraordinary dedication to the local church. MON, Apostolic Representative of Ghana, in the presence of Archbishop John Bonaventura at a ceremony at Our Lady Star of the Sea Cathedral in Takoradi on November 30. The awards were handed over by Pavol Talapka. Metropolitan Kwofi, the local ordinance of the Archdiocese of Accra, was also present at the event.
The Apostolic Representative presented the award with gratitude to the pope for his extraordinary dedication and service to the church, and, above all, to the building up of the local church and above all to the faith of Christ. Archbishop John Bonaventura, the Apostolic Administrator of the diocese, described the ceremony as a blessing to his diocese. He appealed to the laureates to continue their support for the Church to win souls for Christ. Monsignor James Margaret and Joseph Gwyme received the Honor of Monsignor, four were awarded the Knights and Dames Order of the St Gregory the Great, six were Knights and Dames Order of the St Sylvester Medal, and seven were ‘Crosse A’ Pontiffis ‘medal, and two others’ Benamerena Ri ‘worthy of a medal.
Sir Eddie Pray thanked all those who received the Pontifical Medals. He assured the Ghanaians that they would continue to support and support them. He thanked the pope for being particularly blessed and honored by the sovereign of the Church.
