Dhaka: Bangladeshi mummies in Bangladesh pray 24-hour prayers for the world struggling to recover from Covid’s 19-day disease. Mary Rose, Superior Mother of the Eucharistic Monastery of the Upper Clares of Perspectives of Mymensingh, said, “Everybody prays, raising their hands to heaven in tears.” When various nations such as Italy, America, Spain, and France are in crisis, they pray to Jesus constantly to pray for Jesus to save the world from deadly disease.
In addition to prayers, monks perform fasting and sacrificial activities. There are thirty-four monks in the two monasteries of Mymensingh and Dinajpur. These are all in prayer. Mother Mary Rose said she especially prayed for patients, doctors, nurses, and volunteers, as well as for scientists to find medicine immediately. Mother Mary Ross also shared the sadness that the number of those receiving the ascetic order is declining. In the last two years, only a monk has joined the ashram from the Mymensingh diocese, which has around 80,000 believers.
This is the time when God tests us. Men who have turned away from God by doing evil have a chance to repent. Even at home, we see the human community praying to the Creator. The Sister expressed hope that he would hear our prayer and act immediately. This monastic community has contributed fifty thousand to the Divine Sacrifice of Pope Francis’ visit to Bangladesh in 2017.
