Santiago: The European motorcycle police force is on a missionary tour through South America, expressing solidarity with Catholic missionaries who are doing missionary work in poor areas. There are sixteen police officers from Italy, Germany, and France. The expedition, which began in Chile on January 29, covers nearly nine thousand miles through countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, and Peru. The purpose of the expedition is to visit evangelizers who are doing evangelistic work in these areas and to help communities in need.
In 2000, a motorcycle tour was organized by the Italian police ‘Moto for Peace’. In addition to missionary activities, the tour aims to promote harmony, friendship and cultural sharing. Since arriving in Chile, police officers have visited three old cities and orphanages and visited the Archdiocese of Santiago and met with the Archbishop of Celestino Avos.
Donations of motorcycles to doctors in rural areas of Nepal, raising funds for a water purification machine, medical care in various parts of Africa, and building an orphanage in Bolivia are some of the services of the organization. “The motorcycle tour is organized in collaboration with the Vatican’s Integral Human Development Deconstruction,” said Celestino Suarez, vice president of Moto for Peace. In 2018, Moto for Peace was invited to visit South America to learn about the activities of the Vatican Dicastery.
