In a pastoral letter named “Sorrow and Mourning Flee Away”, His Excellency Bishop Mark Seitz of El Paso conveyed the significance to solve the sufferings of migrant communities in the country. His Grace asked the faithful to understand and stand united for the migrant brothers and sisters and also reminded the fear that the migrant community encounters in United States.

As reported by Catholic News Agency, His Grace Bishop Mark Seitz asserted that, “It is first and foremost a reflection on the signs of the times by the light of faith and thus, this letter is not meant to be simply abstract but has to come down to the daily life and daily realities.” His Excellency also listed out various problems faced by the migrant brothers in the country which involved indefensible, hateful words from the Mexicans, the demonization of migrants, destructive languages used by Mexicans.

His Grace concluded the letter by exhorting the law enforcement officers to uphold human dignity in the line of their work and to uphold the noble ideals in the constitution of equal treatment under the law.
