Brentwood: Protesters protest against the use of Christ’s image in front of the altar in the church of the English Martyrs’ Church, located in the Brentwood diocese of Britain. All believers have come out against the call to join in the universal prayer, with the image of Christ alongside the pagan idols. The post was withdrawn following protests over the image posted on the official diocese of the diocese.

The Indian priest, Fr. Brito Belevendran’s post went on to say that the preparations for the universal prayer are being done. Catholic believers have come up with serious allegations that Fr. Brito has violated the First Law and promotes idolatry and blasphemy. One believer tweeted that this was a gross violation of the First commandment and would immediately contact the Chancellor of the Diocese.

Soon after, the post was pulled from the diocese’s official page.

At the same time, it is interesting to note that not a single person appeared in favor of the clergy or diocese. Within half an hour, the tweet had been removed from the diocese’s page, in reference to a Catholic militant clergyman seeking clarification on the matter. Recent reports suggest that there has been strong opposition from some clergy to the promotion of certain forms of worship that are undermining the uniqueness of the Christian faith in the face of interfaith debate in various parts of the world.
