Washington, DC: Nearly half of adults in the United States believe the Bible is influencing the laws of the country, according to a survey. The Pew Research Center’s Fact Tank reports on Monday that 49 percent of those surveyed said the Bible affects US law in a decisive or minor way. 19 percent reported that the Bible had little effect on American law. 31% said they had no influence at all.

Of those who said the Bible had little or no impact on US law, 28 percent said the Bible was overcoming public interest. 58 percent of evangelical churchgoers believe the Bible has a significant impact on American law. 68% of evangelical white people said that the Bible would surpass the public interest when it comes to directing the Bible and public interest. The majority of blacks who are members of the Pentecostal Church believe that Bible laws are influential (47%) and small (29%).
