Pakistani Christian woman Asia Bibi meets with French President Emmanuel Macron The meeting was held on Friday 28 February at the Elysee Palace in Paris on the invitation of the French President. Macron’s office said France was ready to grant asylum to Asia Bibi, who approached the French government seeking citizenship. After the meeting with the French president, Asia Beebe said she had not decided on which country to stay.
“I need time to think. For me, Canada was a good country. And so does France. But now it’s important for me to think about my health, my family and my children’s education. ” She pointed out that France was a symbol for herself and that France was the first nation to support her. She added that she was honored to receive the ‘Citizen of Honor of the City’ from Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo. Asia Bibi did not hide the joy of meeting the French President.
The personal rivalry with the Muslim women has led to the imprisonment of Asiya Bibi and his execution. The Asian Family Forum, which was released from prison in 2018 following the global pressure, fled to Canada. Asia Bibi has also arrived in France to promote the autobiographical book Enfin Libre (finally free!), Co-authored with French journalist Anne Isabelle Tollett, who helped to inform the world of Asia’s story and gained her international support.
