Cardinal George Pell , a Cardinal prelate of the Catholic Church , refused to accept the sexual abuse charges filed against him by the Australian Police and also conveyed his deep gratitude towards the Holy Father, Pope Francis , for granting him leave to return to Australia and clear the charges against him , at a Press Conference in Vatican.
As reported by the Vatican news, Cardinal George Pell stressed, “All along I have been completely consistent and clear in my total rejection of these allegations.” Further , His Eminence continued, “I am totally innocent of these charges. The whole idea of sexual abuse is abhorrent to me.”
The Holy See, the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Catholic Church in Rome stated that , “ Cardinal Pell has chosen to return to Australia in full respect for civil laws, recognizing the importance of his participation to ensure that the process is carried out fairly , and to foster the search for truth”, as reported by Vatican news.
